Minister of the Interior Krista Mikkonen to attend European Commission’s refugee forum – resettlement must continue even in times of crisis
On 29.11., the European Commission will hold via video conference a High-Level Forum on legal pathways to protection. The Forum will discuss the resettlement of refugees, ways to promote admittance, and work-based complementary pathways to protection for refugees. Minister of the Interior Krista Mikkonen will represent Finland at the meeting.
Flight carrying people evacuated from Afghanistan has arrived in Finland
Finland arranged a flight from Tbilisi to Helsinki on 23 August as part of the evacuations from Afghanistan. A total of 102 persons arrived in Finland on the flight. The youngest arrivals are small children.

Finland may provide international rescue service assistance upon the request of another country, the EU or an international organisation.

Under certain conditions, Finland may assist voluntary return to the home country.
