Draft act to combat instrumentalised migration sent out for comments

On 15 March, the Ministry of the Interior sent out for comments a draft act on temporary measures to combat instrumentalised migration. The deadline for submitting comments is 25 March. The proposed act is scheduled to enter into force as soon as possible. The act would be temporary and would be valid for one year after its entry into force.
Finnish Government to draw up national security strategy

The Finnish Government will draw up a national security strategy as part of the development of an operating model for the management of national security at the Government level. The strategy aims to identify and assess the most serious threats against Finland in more efficient and extensive ways through cooperation across administrative boundaries.
Home affairs ministers to discuss migration and border management

The EU home affairs ministers will gather in Brussels on 4 March for a meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council. The ministers will discuss issues related to border management, migration and the situation in Ukraine. Finland will be represented at the meeting by Minister of the Interior Mari Rantanen.
