The ministry as a workplace

The Ministry of the Interior is home to 260 skilled and committed professionals in legislative drafting, internal security (police, rescue services and border management), migration, finance and administration.

The Ministry’s three key duties are:

  1. preparing legislation concerning the police, rescue services, emergency response centre operations, border management, maritime search and rescue and migration
  2. performance management of agencies and institutions in the ministry’s branch of government
  3. dealing with international and EU matters within the ministry’s branch of government.

Our work is challenging and covers a wide range of issues. The work itself is of major importance to society. Working at the Ministry provides an excellent overview of central government, and insights into issues relating to internal security and migration.

We place a particular emphasis on employee wellbeing and competence development. We aim to create a happy and effective working environment that is conducive to learning.
