    15.7.2024 | EU-jäsenmaiden lainvalvontaviranomaisten ja EU:n lainvalvontayhteistyövirasto Europolin välistä yhteistyötä parannetaan kehittämällä automaattista tiedonhakua ja tiedonvaihtoa. Sisäministeriö on 15.7. asettanut lainsäädäntöhankkeen, jossa valmistellaan mahdolliset EU-asetuksen edellyttämät muutokset kansalliseen lainsäädäntöön.

  3. New powers for Finnish Border Guard to prevent and investigate certain offences - Ministry of the Interior

    18.6.2025 | The Finnish Border Guard will be given new powers concerning the prevention and investigation of human trafficking offences and money laundering offences. The Government submitted the Act on Crime Prevention by the Finnish Border Guard and certain other acts for approval on 18 June. The President of the Republic is scheduled to approve the amendments on 27 June, and they will enter into force on 1 September.

  4. Gränsbevakningsväsendet får nya befogenheter för att förhindra och utreda vissa brott - Inrikesministeriet

    18.6.2025 | Gränsbevakningsväsendet får nya befogenheter som gäller förhindrande och utredning av människohandelsbrott och penningtvättsbrott. Regeringen föreslog den 18 juni att lagen om brottsbekämpning inom Gränsbevakningsväsendet och vissa andra lagar ska stadfästas. Avsikten är att republikens president ska stadfästa ändringarna den 27 juni, och de träder i kraft den 1 september.

  5. New amendments to provisions on detention and entry ban help safeguard public order and security - Ministry of the Interior

    3.4.2025 | The provisions of the Aliens Act on detention and entry bans will be tightened. In addition, the Act will provide for the possibility of withdrawing a residence permit from an alien staying outside Finland and imposing an entry ban on the alien for security reasons.

  6. Conditions for obtaining a permanent residence permit to be tightened - Ministry of the Interior

    27.1.2025 | The Government proposes tightening the conditions for a permanent residence permit by extending the continuous period of residence required for a permanent residence permit and by requiring language skills in Finnish or Swedish and a work history of a certain length, among other things. The government proposal to amend the Aliens Act was sent out for comments on 27 January.
