12.6.2024 | Minister of the Interior Mari Rantanen will visit the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (Europol) and the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation (Eurojust) in The Hague on 12 June. There, she will meet with Executive Director of Europol Catherine de Bolle and President of Eurojust Ladislav Hamran. Topics on the agenda for visit include the fight against organised crime and the programme of the next European Commission.

26.5.2011 | Det ska stiftas en lag om samarbetet mellan finländska myndigheter och Europeiska polisbyrån Europol. Regeringen föreslog idag den 26 maj att lagen stadfästs. Avsikten är att republikens president stadfäster lagen imorgon fredag. Samarbetet med Europol har pågått länge med stöd av konventionen från 1998. Lagen behövs eftersom Europolsamarbetet nu grundar sig på ett beslut av Europeiska unionens råd som upphäver den tidigare konventionen.

4.12.2025 | The Ministry of the Interior has sent out for comments a government proposal for an act on the automated search and exchange of data for police cooperation and for amending the Act on the Processing of Personal Data by the Police. The proposal introduces amendments to national legislation required by the EU Regulation on the automated search and exchange of data for police cooperation (the Prüm II Regulation). The deadline for submitting comments is Monday 19 January 2026.
