    20.12.2022 | Amendments to the Aliens Act will extend the use of a long-term visa known as a D visa. The amendments will contribute to promoting education-based and labour-based immigration and streamline entry procedures. The President of the Republic approved the amendments on 20 December.

    22.4.2022 | On 14 April, Finland sent two ambulances and rescue service supplies to Ukraine and medical supplies to Moldova. In addition, a donation of medicinal products was delivered to Ukraine. The material assistance was provided through the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism.

    14.4.2023 | The Non-Violent Childhoods Action Plan contains 93 different measures to combat violence against children and young people in 2020–2025. The aim is also to help victims of violence. According to a recent mid-term evaluation, the implementation of the Action Plan is progressing well.

    7.12.2022 | On Wednesday 7 December, Finland sent buses to Ukraine to be used to transport children and young people to school. This donation is part of the European Commission’s solidarity campaign. Russia’s war of aggression has affected an estimated 5.7 million schoolchildren in Ukraine with many schools having been destroyed in bombing.

    20.2.2023 | Finländare förlorar årligen tiotals miljoner euro som en följd av it-bedrägerier. Typiska bedrägeriformer är de s.k. bank- och kärleksbedrägerierna. Det bästa sättet att undvika att bli lurad av en it-bedragare är att lära sig känna igen it-bedrägerier. Därför lanserar Inrikesministeriet och polisen i februari en kampanj för att lära ut hur man kan förhindra it-bedrägerier genom att tänka sig för.
