  4. New powers for Finnish Border Guard to prevent and investigate certain offences - Ministry of the Interior

    18.6.2025 | The Finnish Border Guard will be given new powers concerning the prevention and investigation of human trafficking offences and money laundering offences. The Government submitted the Act on Crime Prevention by the Finnish Border Guard and certain other acts for approval on 18 June. The President of the Republic is scheduled to approve the amendments on 27 June, and they will enter into force on 1 September.

  5. Conditions for obtaining a permanent residence permit to be tightened - Ministry of the Interior

    27.1.2025 | The Government proposes tightening the conditions for a permanent residence permit by extending the continuous period of residence required for a permanent residence permit and by requiring language skills in Finnish or Swedish and a work history of a certain length, among other things. The government proposal to amend the Aliens Act was sent out for comments on 27 January.

  6. Det automatiska utbytet av uppgifter mellan de brottsbekämpande myndigheterna i EU-medlemsstaterna utvecklas - Inrikesministeriet

    15.7.2024 | Samarbetet mellan EU-medlemsstaternas brottsbekämpande myndigheter och Europeiska unionens byrå för samarbete inom brottsbekämpning Europol förbättras genom att man utvecklar den automatiska sökningen på och det automatiska utbytet av uppgifter. Den 15 juli tillsatte inrikesministeriet ett lagstiftningsprojekt för att bereda de ändringar i den nationella lagstiftningen som EU-förordningen eventuellt förutsätter.

Amendments are proposed to the provisions on the establishment of identity, the integrity requirement and the requirement for sufficient financial resources.     30.8.2024 | Inrikesministeriet har sänt fyra utkast till förordningar som gäller brandskyddsanordningar på remiss. Uppdateringarna av förordningarna hänför sig till revideringen av lagen om anordningar inom räddningsväsendet och av räddningslagen. Remisstiden löper ut den 14 oktober 2024.
