Hallitus antoi asiaa koskevan esityksen eduskunnalle 5.3. Lakimuutosten on tarkoitus tulla voimaan pääosin 1.1.2027.

  2. Citizenship test to be introduced in early 2027 - Ministry of the Interior

    16.6.2026 | A citizenship test will be introduced in Finland at the beginning of 2027. The test will assess knowledge of Finnish society and its key principles. The President of the Republic approved the amendments to the Citizenship Act on 16 June. The citizenship test will be introduced after the required legislative amendments have entered into force at the beginning of 2027.

    21.5.2026 | On 21 May 2026, the Government adopted a national plan on the resilience of critical entities (the CER strategy). The plan’s objective is to enhance the resilience of critical entities. Cooperation between critical entities and authorities will enhance resilience and harmonise it at both EU and national level.
