    3.2.2023 | More than 45,000 people who fled Ukraine last year may be eligible for a municipality of residence in 2023 after residing in Finland for one year, with about 13,000 already satisfying the qualifying period of residence in March–April. On registering a municipality of residence, they will leave the reception services system and become clients of municipalities and wellbeing services counties. This will make them a more integrated part of society in Finland.

  2. Fast track speeds up immigration of experts and growth entrepreneurs - Ministry of the Interior

    1.6.2022 | A new fast track service enables specialists, growth entrepreneurs and their family members to obtain a residence permit within 14 days. The service will be launched at the beginning of June. This service pledge is one of the Government's many measures to streamline the immigration of experts.

    16.2.2021 | Tutkimushankkeessa selvitettiin, millaisia yhteisvaikutuksia ulkomaalaislain ja sen soveltamiskäytännön muutoksilla on ollut kansainvälistä suojelua hakeneiden ja saaneiden asemaan. Tarkasteluun oli rajattu hallituskaudella 2015–2019 hyväksytyt tai voimaan tulleet muutokset. Tutkimuksen mukaan turvapaikkaprosessin tehostamiseksi tehdyt lakimuutokset ovat myös heikentäneet hakijoiden asemaa.

  4. More minors who have been granted international protection could live with their parents - Ministry of the Interior

    16.6.2022 | When a family member of a minor who has been granted international protection applies for family reunification, a residence permit could be granted without the requirement for sufficient financial resources of sponsors who are minors. This would promote the protection of family life and the realisation of the best interests of the child. The Government submitted the relevant proposal for amending the Aliens Act to Parliament on 16 June.

    18.3.2021 | Sisäministeriö ja työ- ja elinkeinoministeriö ovat tilanneet selvityksen siitä, millaisin perustein ihmiskaupan uhreille myönnetään oleskelulupia. Selvityksen tekee kansallisena ihmiskaupparaportoijana toimiva yhdenvertaisuusvaltuutettu. Tarkoitus on tutkia, miten Maahanmuuttovirasto soveltaa ulkomaalaislain erityissäännöstä ihmiskaupan uhreille myönnettävästä jatkuvasta oleskeluluvasta.

  6. Changing employers made easier for seasonal workers - Ministry of the Interior

    17.6.2021 | The Finnish Immigration Service has introduced a new function in the service system to make it easier for seasonal workers to change employers while they are in Finland. The relevant amendment to the Decree of the Ministry of the Interior on Chargeable Services of the Finnish Immigration Service is based on an amendment to the Seasonal Workers Act. Both the amendment to the Seasonal Workers Act and the amendment to the Decree will enter into force on 17 June 2021.

  7. Ändringar i polisens avgifter: priset på pass sjunker medan priserna på övriga tillstånd blir oförändrade eller stiger - Inrikesministeriet

    16.12.2021 | Polisens tillståndsavgifter ändras för 2022. Priset på pass sjunker, men priserna på andra tillstånd kommer i huvudsak att stiga. Priset på identitetskort ändras inte. Bakom ändringarna ligger kostnadsmotsvarigheten för tillstånden. Enligt lagen ska de avgifter som tas ut för tillstånden motsvara kostnaderna för beviljandet av tillstånden.

  8. Polisens avgifter ändras 2021 - Inrikesministeriet

    18.12.2020 | Inrikesministeriet har utfärdat en förordning om polisens avgiftsbelagda prestationer. Priset på bland annat pass och identitetskort stiger. Förordningen träder i kraft den 1 januari 2021.
