    4.6.2026 | The Government has renewed its decision on the closure of border crossing points on the eastern border. On 4 June 2026, the Government decided that the border crossing points on the eastern border would remain closed and the submission of applications for international protection would continue to be centralised. The decision will remain in force until further notice.

  3. Minister of the Interior Rantanen and Permanent Secretary Sarasmaa to visit Estonia - Ministry of the Interior

    10.6.2026 | Minister of the Interior Mari Rantanen and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior Matti Sarasmaa will visit Estonia on 10 June. During the trip, they will observe a joint exercise organised by Estonia, involving authorities from several European countries. The Finnish Police and the Finnish Border Guard will also take part in the exercise.

    27.5.2026 | Sisäministeriö on lähettänyt lausuntokierrokselle hallituksen esitysluonnoksen Rajavartiolaitoksen rikostiedustelua koskevaksi lainsäädännöksi. Uudistus parantaisi Rajavartiolaitoksen mahdollisuuksia saada tietoa sen tehtäviin kuuluvista sisäisen turvallisuuden uhkista. Lausuntoaika päättyy 10.7.2026.
