    7.10.2021 | Restrictions on entry will be lifted for residents of Kuwait in traffic arriving in Finland from Kuwait. The Government adopted a decision on the matter on 7 October and the decision will enter into force on 11 October. No other changes will be introduced to the restrictions. The existing restrictions on entry at external borders will be extended until 24 October. However, people may still enter Finland from all countries upon presenting an approved certificate of a full course of vaccination.

  2. Ändringar i inreserestriktionerna i trafiken över de yttre gränserna - Inrikesministeriet

    2.9.2021 | Det kommer att göras ett par ändringar i inreserestriktionerna i trafiken över de yttre gränserna på basis av incidenstal. Statsrådet fattade beslut i ärendet den 2 september och beslutet träder i kraft den 6 september. Restriktionerna fortsätter att gälla fram till den 19 september. Man kan dock komma till Finland från vilket land som helst genom att visa upp ett godtagbart intyg över fullständig vaccinationsserie.

    2.7.2020 | Valtioneuvosto antoi 2.7. eduskunnalle kirjelmän Euroopan komission ehdotuksesta, joka koskee Euroopan unionin pelastuspalvelumekanismin muuttamista. Taustalla on erityisesti koronaviruspandemian myötä esiin noussut tarve tehostaa EU:n valmiutta vastata vakaviin, laaja-alaisiin suuronnettomuus- ja kriisitilanteisiin, erityisesti tilanteissa, jotka koskevat samanaikaisesti lähes kaikkia jäsenmaita.

    29.12.2022 | The status and the right to services of victims of human trafficking will improve as the help provided through the Assistance System will no longer depend on the progress of the criminal proceedings related to human trafficking.   15. Restrictions on entry into Finland extended until 27 June - Ministry of the Interior

    3.6.2021 | On 3 June, the Government decided to extend the restrictions on entry into the country until 27 June 2021. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to spread, and we do not yet have adequate measures available to replace the restrictions. For this reason, and to curb the spread of COVID-19 variants, both internal border controls and restrictions on external border traffic will continue. Some amendments will be made to the decisions adopted on 20 May. These will enter into force on 7 June.

  16. Long-term D visa would expedite entry into the country for students and researchers who have been issued with residence permits - Ministry of the Interior

    16.6.2022 | Amendments to the Aliens Act would extend the use of a long-term visa known as a D visa. The amendments would contribute to promoting education-based and labour-based immigration and streamline entry procedures.   20. National Strategy for the Prevention of and Response to Environmental Damage guides preparedness for current and future threats - Ministry of the Interior

    16.2.2023 | The Government has adopted a resolution on the National Strategy for the Prevention of and Response to Environmental Damage extending to 2035. The Strategy was adopted at the government session on 16 February. Its main objective is to guide the authorities’ preparedness for current and future threats of environmental damage. The Strategy needed to be updated to ensure that the responsibilities of different actors are in line with the current legislation.
