    20.3.2026 | Finland will receive EUR 17 million from the European Union to strengthen the surveillance of the eastern border and the Gulf of Finland and improve Finland's ability to maintain an up-to-date picture of the situation. With support from the EU Instrument for Financial Support for Border Management and Visa Policy (BMVI), the Finnish Border Guard will acquire unmanned surveillance systems that are resistant to interference with satellite positioning systems (GNSS disruptions).

  2. Finland’s rescEU Medical Stockpile reached full readiness - Ministry of the Interior

    13.5.2026 | The rescEU Medical Stockpile hosted in Finland reached its full material readiness at the end of April. All products specified in the original plan have now been purchased and stored and they are ready to go. The project was completed on schedule, thanks to seamless cooperation among the different parties.

  3. EU home affairs ministers to discuss voluntary returns and migration partnerships - Ministry of the Interior

    5.3.2026 | The EU home affairs ministers will gather in Brussels on 5 March for a meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council. The agenda includes the state of the Schengen area and partnerships with third countries concerning migration. Finland will be represented at the meeting by Minister of the Interior Mari Rantanen, who will underline the importance of preventing illegal entry and stay.

  4. Utlysningarna av finansiering ur EU:s fonder för inrikes frågor våren 2026 har inletts - Inrikesministeriet

    2.3.2026 | Den 2 mars utlyste inrikesministeriet vårens ansökningar till finansieringsinstrumentet för gränsförvaltning och visering (BMVI), fonden för inre säkerhet (ISF) och asyl-, migrations- och integrationsfonden (AMIF). Ansökningstiden går ut den 17 april. Sammanlagt cirka 87,8 miljoner euro kan sökas som understöd.
