Senior management

The Ministry’s most senior public official is Permanent Secretary Juha Majanen. He is assisted by Permanent Under-Secretary for Governance Policy Susanna Huovinen, Permanent Under-Secretary for International and Financial Markets Leena Mörttinen and Economic Policy Coordinator Lauri Kajanoja.

Permanent Secretary

The Permanent Secretary Juha Majanen is the Ministry’s most senior public official. He directs, develops and monitors the work of the Ministry and activities falling within its branch of government. The Permanent Secretary also manages the preparation of matters concerning extra-budgetary funds.

Permanent Under-Secretary for International and Financial Markets Affairs

The Permanent Under-Secretary for International and Financial Markets Affairs is Leena Mörttinen. She acts under the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance. The Permanent Under-Secretary is in charge of managing and coordinating the preparation of matters within the purview of the Financial Markets Department, the EU and International Affairs Function and matters dealt with by the EU’s Economic and Financial Committee.

Economic Policy Coordinator

The Economic Policy Coordinator is Lauri Kajanoja. He assists Permanent Secretary in developing and coordinating economic policy matters within the purview of the Economics Department, the Budget Department and the Tax Department, along with matters related to the budgetary stability control instruments within the purview of the Local Government Department.
