About the Ministry of the Interior’s web service

The address of the Ministry of the Interior's web service is intermin.fi. The Ministry of the Interior is responsible for the service, and it is maintained by the Ministry’s Communications Unit in cooperation with the Ministry’s departments. The web service provides information in Finnish, Swedish, and English.

The frontpage provides the Ministry’s latest news in the form of news highlights and press releases. It also highlights the Ministry’s key functions and topical themes.

The ‘Current issues’ section features the Ministry’s press releases, news, blogs and social media updates. The Ministry of the Interior uses the following social media channels: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube. You can subscribe to receive the Ministry of the Interior’s newsletters and content on your choice of subjects by email.

The ‘Areas of expertise’ section provides information on the activities and tasks of the Ministry.
The ‘Projects and legislation’ section contains information on the most significant projects under way.

The 'Ministry' section presents the Ministry's tasks and objectives, management and organisation, branch of government and preparedness matters. Information is also available on the Ministry’s personnel and finances and on the Ministry as a workplace.

You can use the menu at the top of the page to access the websites of other ministries as well as the Government media service, which requires registration. The Government media service provides press releases, invitations, material on decisions made by government sessions and contact information for registered media representatives. Information for the media service is produced by all ministries, the Office of the President of the Republic and the Office of the Chancellor of Justice.

The search function can be accessed via the website header. By default, searches target the entire content of the site. The Boolean operator ‘AND’ is automatically added between the search words. You can also search using partial words. The search results are listed in order of publication. Alternatively, you can organise the results by the number of hits.

Feedback

If you have any questions or wish to submit feedback about the web service, please use the feedback form. All feedback will be processed during office hours and answered within two weeks of receipt. We can respond to feedback and questions only if you provide your contact details on the form (email address or name and address). Our preferred channel of communications is email. Official correspondence must be sent to the Registry of the Ministry of the Interior at [email protected].

The website uses responsive design, meaning that the content adapts to the device being used. The pages display best using the latest version of your browser. The website can also be viewed using earlier versions, but in this case you may not be able to use all of the features available.

The website also contains direct webcasts and video recordings in the form of live streamings from a separate server, which are adapted to the device being used.
