Cyber security threats have increased and diversified in recent years, calling for the continuous and systematic development of cyber security. A newly published report identifies several development measures that can improve the authorities’ capacity to protect national cyber security, combat serious cyber crime and develop cyber defence.
Finland’s national risk assessment maps out potential risks and supports preparedness

The Ministry of the Interior has published an updated national risk assessment. The previous risk assessment was published in 2018, after which several changes have taken place in Finland’s operating environment. The national risk assessment anticipates sudden incidents targeted at Finland that have an impact on the vital functions of society and require the authorities to adopt exceptional measures or even request help from other countries.
National Action Plan for the Prevention of Violent Radicalisation and Extremism is progressing

The National Action Plan for the Prevention of Violent Radicalisation and Extremism for 2019–2023 has now reached its halfway point, and despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, reasonable progress was made in 2021. The main focus of the measures implemented in 2021 was on organising different types of training online, according to the annual report.
