Home affairs ministers to discuss more effective return procedures
The EU home affairs ministers will gather in Brussels on 5 December for a meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council. Items on the agenda for the meeting include issues related to the Schengen area, improving the efficiency of procedures to return migrants, and the implications of the situation in the Middle East for the EU’s internal security.
The Nordic countries strengthen cooperation on return issues
The Nordic ministers responsible for migration have agreed on closer cooperation on return issues. The ministers met in Copenhagen on 30 and 31 October. Finland was represented at the meeting by Minister of the Interior Mari Rantanen.
Home affairs ministers to discuss fight against human smuggling and situation in Israel and the Middle East
EU home affairs ministers will gather in Luxembourg on 19 October for a meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council. Topics on the agenda include the fight against human smuggling and radicalisation of minors and its prevention. Over lunch, the ministers will discuss the effects of the situation in Israel and the Middle East on the EU's internal security.
