Home affairs ministers to discuss more effective return procedures
The EU home affairs ministers will gather in Brussels on 5 December for a meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council. Home affairs ministers to discuss fight against human smuggling and situation in Israel and the Middle East
EU home affairs ministers will gather in Luxembourg on 19 October for a meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council. Topics on the agenda include the fight against human smuggling and radicalisation of minors and its prevention. Over lunch, the ministers will discuss the effects of the situation in Israel and the Middle East on the EU's internal security.
Project launched to review powers of the Border Guard at Schengen borders
A project has been launched to review whether the powers available to the Border Guard at the internal borders of the Schengen area need to be amended. The aim is to promote border security and to find out whether the powers of the Border Guard at internal borders are up-to-date compared to those of the border authorities of other EU Member States.
