29.8.2025 | Public trust in the police has remained stable for a long time. Of those who responded to the latest Police Barometer survey, 92 per cent trust the police a lot or a fair amount. Respectful treatment of people by the police and fair police activities affect people’s trust.

The discussions highlighted that the spread of alpha-PVP is a complex problem and tackling it requires broad-based cooperation.

According to the latest Police Barometer survey, a total of 91 per cent of the respondents trust the police a lot or a fair amount. Trust in the police has slightly decreased compared to the previous survey (2018: 95 per cent). Based on the results, the police have succeeded well in performing their most important duties and the work of the police is appreciated.

23.1.2019 | A comprehensive assessment of Finland’s internal security and safety has been completed. The assessment was prepared in cooperation between the Ministry of the Interior, other authorities and stakeholders. The Review of Finland’s Internal Security and Safety brings together up-to-date information about the factors affecting security and safety from the standpoint of the population at large.

13.6.2018 | About 88 per cent of the respondents to the most recent Police Barometer survey considered that the police were fully or mostly able to fulfil their responsibility for ensuring public order and security in Finland. The results of the survey have been positive for quite some time now. What is also significant is that the results have even improved since 2012.
