New action plan on violent radicalisation and extremism
The Government has issued a resolution on the national action plan 2019–2023 for the prevention of violent radicalisation and extremism. The action plan aims to reduce extremist violence and its threat to individuals, communities and society, and to promote equality, freedom of expression and other constitutional rights.
Combating terrorism with preventive work and preparedness
Finland’s counter-terrorism preparedness and capabilities are based on close cooperation between authorities and other actors in society. The Government adopted a Resolution on the National Counter-Terrorism Strategy on 29 November. The Strategy includes 31 actions that are either already being carried out or the implementation of which will begin immediately as a collaborative effort of authorities and other actors.

Finland may provide international rescue service assistance upon the request of another country, the EU or an international organisation.

Under certain conditions, Finland may assist voluntary return to the home country.

Violent radicalisation refers to justifying violence based on one's own view of the world, or on ideological grounds.

Finland has official flag days and national flag days designated in the calendar. The flag may be flown on other days as well.
