22.5.2025 | The export of ammunition intended for civilian use will become subject to authorisation. In its session on 22 May, the Government proposed that the President of the Republic approve the bill for the relevant act on Friday 23 May. The act is scheduled to enter into force on 2 June 2025. It supplements the European Union's sanctions legislation.

6.2.2025 | On 6 February, the Government submitted a proposal for provisions on export authorisation for ammunition. The proposal supplements the European Union's sanctions legislation.

25.10.2024 | The Ministry of the Interior has sent out for comments a draft government proposal for an act on export authorisation for cartridge components and on acts amending the Firearms Act and chapter 46, section 1 of the Criminal Code. The aim is to prevent the export of cartridge components to Russia in particular. The draft proposal is being circulated for comments until 28 November 2024.

19.1.2024 | The Ministry of the Interior has set up a legislative project to prepare provisions on permit requirements for the export of ammunition. The aim is to prevent especially the export of cartridge components to Russia in line with the EU’s sanctions decision.

Statsrådet föreslog vid sitt sammanträde torsdagen den 22 maj att republikens president ska stadfästa lagen fredagen den 23 maj. Lagen avses träda i kraft den 2 juni 2025. Det är fråga om bestämmelser som kompletterar Europeiska unionens rättsakter om sanktioner.

25.10.2024 | Inrikesministeriet har sänt på remiss ett utkast till regeringens proposition med förslag till en lag om tillståndsplikt för utförsel av patronkomponenter och till lagar om ändring av skjutvapenlagen och 46 kap. 1 § i strafflagen. Avsikten är att förhindra utförsel av patronkomponenter i synnerhet till Ryssland. Utkastet är på remiss fram till den 28 november 2024.

19.1.2024 | Inrikesministeriet har tillsatt ett lagstiftningsprojekt för att bereda bestämmelser om tillståndsplikt för export av ammunition. Avsikten är att i enlighet med EU:s sanktionsbeslut förhindra i synnerhet export av patronkomponenter till Ryssland.
