31.3.2026 | Tiede- ja kulttuuriministeri Mari-Leena Talvitie vieraili Ukrainassa 29.–31.3. 31.3.2026 | Forsknings- och kulturminister Mari-Leena Talvitie besökte Ukraina den 29 – 31 mars. Minister Talvitie har på inbjudan av Ukraina deltagit i ett kulturmöte i Lviv. På mötesagendan stod frågor som gäller läget inom Ukrainas kultursektor, skyddet av Ukrainas kulturegendom, det internationella samarbetet och de konkreta stödåtgärderna. Under besöket har ministern haft enskilda möten med Ukrainas vice statsminister och kulturminister Tetyana Berezhna och Litauens kulturminister Vaida Aleknavičienė.

16.4.2026 | Finland plans to introduce a citizenship test to assess applicants’ knowledge of how Finnish society works and its key principles. The Government submitted the proposal to Parliament on 16 April. The test would be introduced after the legislative amendments enter into force at the beginning of 2027.

5.2.2026 | According to the Government Programme, Finland’s annual refugee quota is 500 persons. In its plenary session on 5 February, the Government decided on which refugee groups would be included in this year’s quota and how many places would be reserved for each group.
