16.6.2026 | I Finland införs ett medborgarskapsprov i början av 2027. Syftet med provet är att mäta kunskaper om det finländska samhällets funktion och grundprinciper. Republikens president stadfäste ändringarna av medborgarskapslagen den 16 juni. Lagändringarna träder i kraft vid ingången av 2027, varefter också medborgarskapsprovet införs.

16.4.2026 | Finland håller på att införa ett medborgarskapsprov. I provet mäts kunskaperna om hur det finländska samhället fungerar och om dess grundprinciper. Statsrådet lämnade en proposition om detta till riksdagen den 16 april. Lagändringarna avses träda i kraft vid ingången av 2027, varefter också medborgarskapsprovet införs.

Today, the Government issued decrees laying down provisions on the possibility of appointing police students to the police reserve and on the studies required of reserve police officers.

Antalet program för kompletterande vägar ökar i snabb takt, och dessa har potential att tillgodose behoven hos såväl människor i behov av skydd som mottagarsamhällen.

Fokus låg på vägar som baserar sig på arbete och studier. Forskningsinformation stöder Finlands överväganden av behovet av migrationsvägar och EU:s ansträngningar för att finna nya lösningar.

5.3.2026 | The Government intends to establish a police reserve in Finland to ensure sufficient police resources in all circumstances. The threshold for deploying the reserve would be high. The Government submitted a proposal on the matter to Parliament on 5 March. Most of the legislative amendments are scheduled to enter into force on 1 January 2027.

10.11.2025 | The Ministry of the Interior is requesting comments on a draft government proposal for the establishment and deployment of a police reserve. The aim is to ensure that the police have sufficient resources in all circumstances. The draft proposal also includes an amendment concerning the qualification requirements for the Master of Police Services degree. The deadline for submitting comments is 22 December 2025.
