10.4.2025 | In January, Moldova requested energy sector assistance through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism after Russia had stopped gas deliveries to the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova. The situation has jeopardised the functioning and stability of the electricity sector throughout the Republic of Moldova.

22.4.2022 | Den 14 april sände Finland två ambulanser och räddningsutrustning till Ukraina samt medicinsk utrustning till Moldova. Även en donation av läkemedel levererades till Ukraina. Det materiella biståndet lämnades genom Europeiska unionens civilskyddsmekanism (European Union Civil Protection Mechanism). 

22.2.2023 | Minister of the Interior Krista Mikkonen will visit Moldova on 22–24 February. During the visit, Mikkonen will meet the Moldovan Minister of Internal Affairs Ana Revenco and the Representative of the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR in Moldova, Francesca Bonelli, among others. The topics of discussion in the meetings during the trip include Ukraine’s refugees and civilian crisis management.

4.3.2022 | The Ministry of the Interior has decided to send three experts to Moldova to assist in coordinating the humanitarian assistance needed by people fleeing Ukraine. The experts left Finland on Friday morning.

22.4.2022 | On 14 April, Finland sent two ambulances and rescue service supplies to Ukraine and medical supplies to Moldova. In addition, a donation of medicinal products was delivered to Ukraine. The material assistance was provided through the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism. 

3.3.2022 | Finland’s assistance includes emergency accommodation equipment for 5,000 people and a field kitchen to help people who have fled to Moldova from Ukraine. Material assistance was provided through the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism.

24.8.2022 | Finland sände medicinska förnödenheter och strålskyddsutrustning till Ukraina den 8 juli och räddningsutrustning, såsom bårar, defibrillatorer, första hjälpen-paket och skyddsutrustning, den 2 augusti. Biståndet lämnades genom Europeiska unionens civilskyddsmekanism (European Union Civil Protection Mechanism).

10.4.2025 | Moldova pyysi tammikuussa EU:n pelastuspalvelumekanismin kautta apua energiasektorilleen Venäjän lopetettua kaasuntoimitukset Moldovan tasavallan Transnistrian alueelle. Tilanne on vaarantanut sähkösektorin toiminnan jatkumisen ja vakauden koko Moldovan tasavallassa.

22.2.2023 | Inrikesminister Krista Mikkonen besöker Moldavien den 22–24 februari. Under resan träffar Mikkonen bland annat Moldaviens inrikesminister Ana Revenco och FN:s flyktingorgan UNHCR:s representant i Moldavien Francesca Bonelli. Under mötena diskuteras bland annat hjälpen till ukrainska flyktingar och civil krishantering.

22.2.2023 | Sisäministeri Krista Mikkonen vierailee Moldovassa 22.-24.2. Mikkonen tapaa matkan aikana muun muassa Moldovan sisäministeri Ana Revencon sekä YK:n pakolaisjärjestö UNHCR:n Moldovan edustajan Francesca Bonellin. Tapaamisissa keskustelunaiheita ovat muun muassa Ukrainan pakolaisten auttaminen ja siviilikriisinhallinta. 

30.11.2022 | On 24 November, Finland sent much needed help for the energy sector in Ukraine. The delivery package comprised components of the electricity grid, such as current transformers, circuit breakers and relays. Earlier this autumn, 28 current transformers were delivered to Ukraine.

9.11.2022 | Finland has been providing Ukraine with more civilian material assistance over the course of October–November. On 18 October, Finland sent one truckload of back-up generators badly needed by Ukraine and two truckloads of personal protective equipment were sent in early November. The material assistance was provided through the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism.

29.12.2022 | Finland has sent more energy sector supplies and hospital supplies to Ukraine. Last week, Finland also delivered school furniture for the first time. This year, Finland has delivered a total of 55 trucks of civilian material assistance to Ukraine. New assistance packages are being prepared, among other things, for the energy sector.

7.12.2022 | On Wednesday 7 December, Finland sent buses to Ukraine to be used to transport children and young people to school. This donation is part of the European Commission’s solidarity campaign. Russia’s war of aggression has affected an estimated 5.7 million schoolchildren in Ukraine with many schools having been destroyed in bombing.

12.10.2022 | In August-September, Finland delivered a total of five trucks to Ukraine that contained civil defence equipment, hospital supplies and scanning equipment. The material assistance was provided through the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism.

21.6.2023 | Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Finland has delivered civilian material assistance to Ukraine. This assistance has consisted mainly of donations from the private and public sectors. The Ministry of the Interior is coordinating the provision of assistance to Ukraine through the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism.

24.8.2022 | On 8 July, Finland sent medical supplies and radiation safety equipment to Ukraine, and on 2 August, rescue service supplies, such as stretchers, defibrillators, first-aid kits and protective equipment. The material assistance was provided through the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism.

12.5.2022 | As a Member State of the European Union, Finland will take responsibility for the migratory impact of the situation in Ukraine, and especially for protecting those fleeing war. Finland is also prepared to receive beneficiaries of temporary protection transferred from other countries as a part of joint EU measures. The Government expressed its position on such transfers in a Union communication to Parliament on 12 May.

25.3.2022 | EU home affairs ministers will gather in Brussels on Monday 28 March for an extraordinary meeting of the Justice and Home Affairs Council. Items on the agenda include coordination between EU countries with respect to the reception of refugees from Ukraine. Minister of the Interior Krista Mikkonen will represent Finland at the meeting.
