31.3.2026 | Forsknings- och kulturminister Mari-Leena Talvitie besökte Ukraina den 29 – 31 mars. Minister Talvitie har på inbjudan av Ukraina deltagit i ett kulturmöte i Lviv. På mötesagendan stod frågor som gäller läget inom Ukrainas kultursektor, skyddet av Ukrainas kulturegendom, det internationella samarbetet och de konkreta stödåtgärderna. Under besöket har ministern haft enskilda möten med Ukrainas vice statsminister och kulturminister Tetyana Berezhna och Litauens kulturminister Vaida Aleknavičienė.

20.1.2025 | Vid inrikesministeriet genomfördes 2024 efterhandsutvärderingar av asyl-, migrations- och integrationsfonden (AMIF, Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund) och fonden för inre säkerhet (ISF, Internal Security Fund) för fondperioden 2014–2020. Inrikesministeriet var den nationella ansvariga myndigheten för dessa EU-fonder för inrikes frågor under fondperioden.

23.4.2026 | On 23 April, the Government decided that Finland would apply for EUR 35 million in additional funding from the European Commission to procure drone detection and counter-drone systems for the Finnish Border Guard. Finland will seek the funding from the EU Instrument for Financial Support for Border Management and Visa Policy (BMVI).

9.4.2026 | In its meeting on 9 April, the Ministerial Committee on Economic Policy decided that Finland would apply for EUR 35 million in additional funding from the European Commission’s Border Management and Visa Policy Instrument (BMVI). The funding would be used by the Border Guard to procure drone detection and counter-drone systems.

8.4.2026 | The Ministry of the Interior will allocate around EUR 44 million in EU funding to projects on border management, crime prevention and migration. The projects will improve the capabilities of security authorities, develop information systems, and secure resources for the authorities to manage migration. The funding will be granted from the EU Home Affairs Funds, under the autumn 2025 call for proposals.

20.11.2025 | On 16 July, the European Commission presented a proposal for a new Multiannual Financial Framework for 2028–2034. The proposal would significantly increase EU funding for home affairs. The Government informed Parliament of the proposal by submitting a Union communication on 20 November.

7.5.2021 | Inrikesministeriet har skickat utkasten till program för Europeiska unionens fonder för inrikes frågor 2021–2027 på remiss. Remissbehandlingen av de finskspråkiga utkasten pågår fram till den 27 maj.

11.11.2021 | Statsrådet har godkänt nya program för Europeiska unionens fonder inom området för inrikes frågor för programperioden 2021–2027. Fonderna under programperioden är fonden för inre säkerhet, asyl-, migrations- och integrationsfonden samt instrumentet för ekonomiskt stöd för gränsförvaltning och viseringspolitik.

13.11.2025 | Finland is applying for additional funding for its programme under the EU Instrument for Financial Support for Border Management and Visa Policy (BMVI) to strengthen surveillance at the eastern border and in the Gulf of Finland. Finland is seeking funding of over EUR 16 million from the European Commission, following the Government’s decision on 13 November.
